By Edith Lazenby
Life happens. As a friend says, it is what it is.
Acceptance sometimes has to hit us over the head with a bat before we say yes to what works and no to what does not work.
It is what it is.
What if your house burned down? What if you went the kind of crazy where you no longer knew what is real?
What if you are runner but you keep riding a bike? What if you are born to write but won’t stop singing?
What if you turn 50 and never found what you love?
How many jobs did you cling to though miserable? How many relationships did you stay in long past their end?
Life happens. We can go with the flow. We can work towards balance in body and mind and heart. We can embrace our natures.
It is what it is.
And we don’t have to know why or how. We only have to see what is before us. Life gives opportunity to grow and heal and be all we can be.
It is what it is. You are who you are.
And for me that is reason enough to celebrate.
Edith “Edie” Lazenby lives in Baltimore and teaches yoga. Writing is her first love. She enjoys a cup of coffee and being around people. Life is a celebration. Writing helps her celebrate.
