synchronicity

By Debbie Lynn

As we all know…

There are things that are beyond explanation, but what does it mean to our everyday existence?

Synchronicity is like always being in a dream—the more we notice, the more often the brilliant oddities will surface. Coincidental happenstance is a perfectly timed play on the stage of life and we construct the scenes by the millions of choices we make daily. The irony is: we are either participating fully, orchestrating the direction, or we are lost in distraction.

If we are lost, we are missing the understated signs that are formulating every second of what is to be and what is next.

The signs come when we need them the most. They are unquestionable quiet subtleties laced in the ordinary way we live, what’s around us at all times. Unfortunately they don’t always show up in the way we desire—especially in desperation or on bended knee. There is no big announcement, parting of the sea, or lighting; it is all a matter of honoring the simple things before us.

When we are too clogged with our emotional stuff the view through the tears is never quite clear or accurate. It is good to assess our commitment to our innate intuition and acceptance.

We better be open to the possibilities—all of them—when “Please show me a sign” is requested.

“The funny thing about enlightenment is that when it is authentic, there is no one to claim it. Enlightenment is very ordinary; it is nothing special. Rather than making you more special, it is going to make you less special. It plants you right in the center of a wonderful humility and innocence. Everyone else may or may not call you enlightened, but when you are enlightened the whole notion of enlightenment and someone who is enlightened is a big joke. I use the word enlightenment all the time—not to point you toward it but to point you beyond it. Do not get stuck in enlightenment.” ~ Adyashanti

What does this mean? How about that all our daily experiences truly have purpose. When this is understood, life is enlightened, magical, and surreal. It means that “the mundane and boredom” aren’t options anymore. It is being re-introduced to your self and liking where you are and what you see. It means every breath holds the smallest secrets, and if you allow them to synchronize with your mind, body and spirit and there is peace.

It means you are tuned in.

When we are tuned in and stable what we see is perfect because that is the way we want it to be. Example: the rock we trip over as we are walking along can be symbolic of a decision of a solid relationship, or a gentle reminder to look where we are going. Perspective is everything.

What synchronicity doesn’t mean is the problems we face disappear. They are still there in living color, but noticing what kind of symbolic part these situations play out in our life can help mute the drama and defuse emotional reactions.

Taking on the signs that are in front of us elevates our spirit, gives us just what we need in the moment to rise above the things that try to take us down. We don’t need to have an explanation—synchronicity is truly personal—but knowing that life is a mystery, a puzzle that will never be solved, is a way to find solace in a world gone mad.

Head up, eyes to the sky… enjoy the ride.

Debbie LynnDebbie Lynn realized at a very young age that the outer reality was a far cry from her inner truth and meeting her inner wisdom head on always turned into a challenge. The wonderment, curiosity and hypocrisy of life led to exploration and a cumulative documentation (art and journaling) of what she lovingly calls “the purge”. It is her way of ridding any negative energy from the daily grind. She says, “In essence, it is a way to start fresh and cleanse the soul.” Debbie has had numerous articles published with elephant journal, The Edge Magazine and Simple Steps Real Life Magazine.
